Swimming pool pumps circulate the water in your pool, evenly distributing the pool chemicals. Pool sand filters remove the impurities and debris from the water.
Swimming pool pumps circulate your pool water evenly spreading the chemicals and preventing stagnating water. From Certikin to Mega, we stock a wide range of pumps for all sizes of swimming pool. The pumps contain an impeller which spins forcing water out, as this water leaves more water enters and the process repeats, evenly distributing the chemicals through the water. It is recommended that when you start your pumps after the winter or after a prolonged period of no use to fill your pump manually first.
To make sure you buy the correct pump you need to know how many gallons of water your pool holds. This will tell you what size horsepower (hp) or kilowatt (kw) pump you will need.
The pool filters main use is to remove debris and unwanted particles from the pool water. A sand filter is a popular choice when choosing a filter. These filters contain a space full of sand, the water is pumped through this area and the dirt is trapped by the particles of sand. Another popular filter is a paper cartridge filter, which works in a similar way but the paper traps the dirt. The filters need to be regularly cleaned; to do this the filter needs to be run in reverse and all the water needs to be collected.
