Bring water to life with CUVs
CUVs ensure that the swimming pool water will have amazing clarity by killing the single cell algae that causes green water.
All the CUV units have been designed using the latest technology to ensure that the water will flow effectively within the unit, allowing the ultraviolet light to destroy the algae as it passes through.
The CUV has a low energy electronic ballast, fused with thermal overload protection. It can also withstand up to 4 Bar pressure.
- The CUV is fully serviceable. The lamp and control box can both be replaced. The control box is fitted to a bracket which also allows the CUV to be wall mounted horizontally or vertically.
- Up to the 75w, all units have 1.5″ connections. The 110w and 220w are 2″.
- All units are compatible with salt chlorinators.
- The approximate lifespan of a Certikin UV Bulb is 9,000 hours (approximately 1 year).
- The CUV comes complete with a 2 year guarantee for total piece of mind.
No more red eyes
Chloramines are the by-product of the reaction that takes place when chlorine reacts with waste brought into the swimming pool by bathers (urea, ammonia etc). High chloramine (combined chlorine) levels are the cause of red eyes, itchy skin and the chlorine odour that is often associated with swimming pools. Low pressure UV-C breaks down monochloramines reducing the associated symptoms and the amount of chemicals required to keep the water clean and safe, allowing the pool to be operated at a lower free chlorine level.
Easy to install
The CUV is installed in the plant room after the filter and before the salt water chlorine generator or tablet feeder if used, on the return line to the pool. Every CUV is simple to install and is supplied with pre-fitted mounting brackets that allow you to fix the unit horizontally or vertically. All units are supplied with unions, and flexible hose connectors or metric fittings can be supplied upon request.
Designed for best performance
The design of the CUV optimises flow rates and improves energy efficiency, with the sole focus to deliver optimum performance at all times to clarify swimming pool water. They come with high output UV bulbs powered by energy efficient ballasts and are fused with thermal overload protection. Made from HDPE for its highly reflective properties, the unit is fully UV stabilised and has translucent ends that glow when the
UV is operational. The unit is fully CE and UL compliant and is supplied as standard as 50Hz (a 60Hz model is available on request).
Minimal maintenance
The effectiveness of UV bulbs diminishes over time therefore the bulbs will need to be replaced periodically. CUV bulbs will last for 9000 hours or two years (assuming that the pool filtration system is operational for 24 hours a day for 6 months of the year). We also recommend replacing the quartz sleeves at the same time to preserve the light efficiency of the unit. Replacement bulbs, quartz sleeves and control boxes are readily available from your CUV stockist.
Salt chlorination compatible
The CUV is fully compatible with salt water chlorine generators, allowing for a lower level of chlorine to be used whilst still enjoying completely safe swimming pool water. Note: It is important to ensure that a residual sanitiser (such as chlorine or bromine) is present in the water to keep the water clean and healthy to swim in.
