Description
The most common way to kill bacteria in your pool and keep your swimming pool water healthy is to use chlorine. Before using chlorine, it is important to have a correct water balance first. Once this has been achieved, chlorine levels between 1.0-3.0 mg/l should be satisfactory to preserve bacteria free swimming pool water. There are two ways to tell if your pool is a well-managed chlorine treated swimming pool is that
it will have no odour and the level of chloramines will be less than 0.5 mg/l. Here at Cascade Pools we have a wide range of swimming pool chemicals for you to choose from to suit your swimming pool requirements.
Mini 20g Chlorine Tablets
These small chlorine tablets will slowly erode over a period of 3-5 days depending on the water flowing over them.
Prior to using these chlorine tablets, adjust the pH levels to the ideal range of 7.2 – 7.6 to promote bather comfort and effective chemical use.
These tablets are designed for use with chlorine feeders or floating dispensers. As they release chlorine relatively slowly it may be necessary to shock or oxidise prior to their use to first establish some chlorine more rapidly. Ideal chlorine levels are between 1-3 mg/l (ppm).
IMPORTANT: DO NOT ADD THE CHLORINE TABLETS DIRECTLY TO A POOL OR SPA AND ALWAYS USE A CLEAN APPLICATOR WITH NO OTHER PRODUCTS PRESENT.
If using a Floating Dispenser fill with tablets and adjust the aperture mechanism at the bottom of the dispenser to obtain the 1-3 mg/l (ppm) desired range. Alternatively keep the dispenser aperture constant and vary the tablets inside to achieve 1-3 mg/l (ppm).
The dispenser should be removed from the pool while swimmers are bathing.
Chlorine Feeders: If you are using a feeder fill the dispenser and follow the instruction manual on flow regulation to maintain 1-3 mg/l (ppm) chlorine levels.
